Iron Ore Mining
Iron ore mining involves extracting the ore from the ground and processing it so that it can be used in a number of products, including steel, but also other products like cement and fertilizer. To extract iron ore from under the surface, one must first remove the rock around it. For this purpose, drillers employ explosives to remove dirt from below the surface. After drilling, machinists use cutting equipment to separate and refine metal from rock in order to be resold.
Lithium Mining
Lithium mining is a high energy-consuming process. In order to extract the metal from the earth, it has to be crushed into fine particles. The crushed matter requires heat to reach extreme temperatures and pressure before it can be released. A lithium mine is an underground mine that extracts the mineral and a processing mill that converts lithium oxide (Li2O) obtained from the ore into a usable form — either lithium carbonate, lithium chloride or lithium hydroxide.
Lead and Zinc Mining

Lead and zinc mining are the two most common metals mined in Afghanistan. The most important lead ores are the sphalerite (ZnS) and galena (PbS). Zinc is usually found as a mixture of chalcopyrite, bornite, chrysocolla, pyrite and molybdenite.
Fluorite Mining
Afghanistan's Fluorite Mining and Processing is an important industrial asset of the country. It is engaged in the mining, milling, and processing of fluorite minerals which are a valuable natural resource in Afghanistan. The Company's mineral reserve includes sapphire, ruby, turquoise, emerald and other precious stones. Fluorite is a mineral found in rocks and sediments all around the world, but especially in Australia and Florida. It has many uses, most notably in the field of electronics, where devices like televisions rely on it for its positive electronic properties.
Antimony Mining
The mining activity is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. In 2010 the world production of antimony was only $200 million, but by 2020 it will reach $26 billion and even more in 2030. Afghanistan has a large reserve of antimony, which makes it an important source of foreign currency both for exports and for copper smelting also.
Copper Mining
Afghanistan Copper Mining and Processing Limited, the country’s biggest copper producer, is seeking to expand its operations in the eastern province of Logar. The company has been exploring for copper ore in the Mashkel and Deh Yak districts of Logar province, which also host deposits of coal, gold and silver. We offer a broad range of products for use in applications that include electronics, aerospace and defines, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, batteries and electroplating. Gold Mining
